For our first issue, we are especially interested in works that explore change and transition—especially those illusive moments and states in the midst of change—those moments when a soul is split in two and trying converge again into something new. We want to hear all the torments, the ecstasies, and the bewilderments of utter fluidity and transience. We would say "liminal", if the word hadn't been beaten to death in recent years. We love images of the dark, the spiritual, the occult, and the esoteric. Though we cannot currently pay our contributors for general submissions, see below for our contests with cash prizes attached
We accept prose and poetry from writers 18+ (Writers 14-17, see our Youths’ Prize below)
Poetry: Submit up to 6 poems in a single document (.doc, .docx, pdf , .odt)
Fiction: Submit up to 10,000 words total (single or multiple pieces) (.doc, .docx, pdf , .odt)
Creative non-fiction: Submit up to 10,000 words total (single or multiple pieces) (.doc, .docx, pdf , .odt)

The winners in prose and poetry will each receives $75 + publication in our Winter 25-26 Issue
Should your work be accepted, it may be lightly edited for basic spelling and grammar, but in the case of any such change significantly altering the meaning of the piece, the author will be consulted prior. This generally only applies to our prose as we are accepting of poetry with unconventional spelling and punctuation; if you would like your poetry edited for grammar, please indicate so in the body of your email.
Ecdysis Review asks for exclusive First Serial Rights; after publication all rights revert back to the original author. Should your work later be reprinted, please acknowledge Ecdysis Review as the place of their initial publication.
